BIG BANG POST INVESTS IN DIGITAL VISION RESTORATION TOOLSET
London, UK, 2nd March 2010 – Digital Vision’s conform and editing solution for tapeless workflows – Nucoda Data Conform with DVO toolset - has been bought by Bristol facility Big Bang Post. A hired system has been a key element of the facility’s creative workflow for the past 12 months and following a number of successful projects Big Bang made the decision to purchase.
“We have been using a Data Conform loaded with DVO tools for several blue chip Natural History Unit series including: Nature's Great Events (6x1hr HD), Life (10x1hr HD), The Great Rift (3x1hr HD) and most recently Inside the Perfect Predator (1x1hr HD),” explains Tim Bolt, Big Bang Post. He adds, “We’ve used the system to reduce grain, clean up dirt, remove longitudinal scratches, de-field anti-alias images and de-flicker time lapses.”
Nucoda Data Conform shares the same flexible, data centric architecture and intuitive user interface as Nucoda Film Master and Nucoda Film Cutter, making it an ideal assist station. Functionality can be extended increasing the system’s power by adding tools such as video I/O, pan and scan, effects or DVO for managing grain and noise, or concealing dust and scratches.
Bolt continues, “During this period we decided that as the system is such a key element of our creative toolset we should invest and as such have bought a Data Conform loaded with DVO Restore, DVO Enhance and DVO Convert. The DVO Convert option allows us to do the highest quality motion compensated standards conversions in-house. We chose Digital Vision because the company has the industry-leading picture enhancement/restoration toolset.”
